Welcome to Korean Education Center in San Francisco.
Dedicated to helping Koreans and non-Koreans alike, the Korean Education Center (KEC) is an institution for social education founded by the Korean Ministry of Education. The KEC's mission is to provide appropriate educational opportunities and social services related to Korean language, culture and history in order to enrich the lives of Koreans living abroad. The KEC also seeks to empower this overseas Korean community by infusing it with pride and awareness of its Korean identity. Furthermore, by introducing the rich tapestry of Korean life and culture through education, advocacy, and services, the KEC also hopes to promote better understanding and cultural awareness of Korea among Americans.
The KEC in San Francisco has jurisdiction over and provides services in Northern California, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. It supports Korean educational institutions for all Korea-born citizens in this area and spreads awareness of Korea through these educational bodies.
The information on this website contains referrals and resources for Korean schools, advice for home-visit training programs for Korean residents in the U.S. (including exchange of educational resources, educational institution partnerships, and visitation exchanges, etc) and tips in regard to Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). We hope that this allows Koreans in these communities to stay informed and up to date and that it also provides educational professionals with a forum for exchanging opinions and ideas for their own Korea-related programs. We humbly ask for your continuing interest and active participation. Thank you.
