[KCCLA]2022 Online Korean Poetry Recitation Contest 개최 안내

To commemorate the 576th Anniversary of Hangul Day (October 9, 2022), the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (KCCLA) and the King Sejong Institute Center, USA are pleased to announce this year’s Online Korean Poetry Recitation Contest, which will be in the form of an original video submission.


* Event Information

 - Submission period: August 22 – September 25, 2022 (Pacific)

 - Evaluation period: September 27 – October 1, 2022 (Pacific)

 - Announcement of winners: October 4, 2022 (http://www.kccla.org/ and https://www.ksicusa.com/)

 - Online awards ceremony: 17:30 (Pacific) on Thursday, October 6, 2022

    (Schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances)


* Eligibility

  • Must be a US resident and at least 18 years of age on date of submission
  • Any Korean learner in the US (including King Sejong Institute students, college students, and the general public), whose native language IS NOT Korean

 

* How to Apply                                                 

  • Video must be your own original work, with a brief (maximum 30-second) on-camera self-introduction (your name, level of class and/or amount of time that you have studied Korean; title and author of the poem; and any other brief comment that you wish to include).
  • Choose one poem in your level (*See Table 1) and make a video of yourself reciting it in Korean. Please choose the appropriate level for yourself. Please carefully read and follow the instructions and evaluation criteria below.
  • Submit your video (MP4 format ONLY) with the completed Consent and Release Form to speechcontest@kccla.org.
  • Submission deadline: 11:59 pm (Pacific) on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

     (To be considered, applicants must submit a completed application via email.)


* Video Format Guidelines

  • File format: MPEG-4 (MP4).
  • Minimum Video resolution: 1920(Width)X1080(Height)
  • You must recite the poem in Korean on-camera, but you can add background images, videos, and/or music.
  • At the end of your video, you must include appropriate references or citations for any images, video, or music that you do not own the rights to.
