With the support of the Korean Education Center in San Francisco (Director Heo Hye-Jung), new Korean language classes will be established at regular schools in the Watsonville and Monterey areas. Monte Vista Christian School, located in Watsonville (2 School Way, Watsonville, CA 95076), began offering Korean language classes on October 30, 2024, for 15 students. Monte Vista TK-8 School (100 Toda Vista, Monterey, CA 93940) will start its Korean language classes in January 2025 for approximately 15 students.
On November 20, Director Heo of the Korean Education Center expressed gratitude to Carrisa Medina, the principal of Monte Vista Christian School, and visited the Korean language class. She also met with the Korean language teacher, Lee Dong-hee, to offer encouragement. Additionally, Director Heo held a meeting with Joseph Ashby, the principal of Monte Vista TK-8 School, and Han Eun-hee, the teacher who will be leading the Korean language classes next year.
