There was an award (President Prize) ceremony for Ji-Eun Song (Susie Coover) who is the principal of Stockton Bansuk Korean School, in October 19, at 3:30pm at the reception hall in Consulate General of Korea.
To celebrate the Korean Language Proclamation Day, Ji-Eun Song was nominated as she has contributed and committed remarkably in overseas education.
She has gained the respect and the fidelity among the people and the community for over 30 years while working as a teacher and the principal who educates the 2nd generation and the 3rd generation of Korean heritage students at Korean school.
She modestly said “I am so honored to be the one even though I have not done so much, but I am really thankful for the supports and the considerations, and I will take this prize as the message that I need to make more efforts in education identity.
Civil Merit Medal is the prize for the one who has shown the outstanding contribution for over 10 years in education field.
Ms Song atteded the ceremony with her family member, and Justine Chang (Eun-Young Chang) who is the President of Korean Schools of Association in Northern California, Kyung Yi Lee who is the President of KOWIN attended to congratulate her.
