미국방외국어대학(DLI) 한국어과 학생들을 대상으로 하는 웅변대회가 지난달 26일 열렸다.
There was a speech contest for the students who attend and major in Korean at DLI in June 26.

올해로 13회째를 맞이하며 각 수준별로 다른 주제가 주어진 웅변대회에는 총 12명의 학생이 참가해 그동안 갈고 닦은 한국어 실력을 마음껏 발휘했다.
It is the 13th contest and 12 participnats who hold different levels and themes present their skills and efforts in Korean language.

수상학생 7명 중 최고 영예인 사령관 상을 수상한 언 조한센(Ean A. Johansen) 학생은 K-POP과 한국음식을 통해 한국어를 배운 자신의 경험담을 설득력 있게 웅변을 통해 표현해 심사위원들과 관객들에게 높은 호평을 받았다.
The winner is Ean A. Johansen who impressed the judges by sharing his expriences on K-POP and Korean food.

이날 행사에는 몬트레이 이응찬 한인회장이 샌프란시스코 한국교육원 신주식 원장이 참석해 축사와 시상을 했다. 

The president of Montrery Korean community, Ung Chan Lee, and the DIrector at Korean Education Center of San Francisco, Joosik Shin attended, gave a congratulatory speech and awarded the prize.

한편, 행사직후 미국방대학 ‘글로브’(GLOBE) 잡지 기자는 미국과 한국 사이의 언어 교류에 대해 신주식 원장과 인터뷰 하기도 했다.

The reporter of GLOBE at DLI interviewed the Director Shin about the language exchange between Korea and USA.
